So I was watching xplay today and they were talking about C&C3. Just then, i got this interesting idea.

I pieced this image together for you guys to illustrate my idea.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v329/Jamiejrg/mydscandc.jpg

Question: Why the heck hasn't EA made a C&C on the DS? If they did would you play it?

In my opinion the DS is the perfect platform for a C&C game. It wouldn't even need amazing graphics. I just used graphics from red alert for the pc and I think it looks bitch'n. (Yes the hud is from C&C3, the RA one is sooo blah..). Plus, since the DS has wifi there is a possibility for ad-hoc games and full infrastructure modes.

Thoughts?

Jamie

But it seems like a good idea right? Since C&C 3 came out new people are getting a taste of the C&C universe. Why not show them where it came from and at the same time make a wicked game?

We had a topic about this a year or two ago. I think there was even a petition...well you see how that turned out.

There's some C&C homebrew game being made for the DS, I haven't really being following its progress for the past few months.

http://www.cncds.worldoffokkers.nl/

They ported Sim City to the DS, so an official C&C for the DS (TS/C&C) might happen sometime in the near future.

Thanks for alerting me to this. Althought, it is one of those single man modding projects. My hopes aren't high lol. If it were done.. I would want it done officialy.

Nope, I wouldn't even by the DS for it. The DS's lack of online anything and firmwire restrictions make it almost useless, I see this working MUCH better on the PSP In Love

You can play online Pokemon and trade with people across the world so the DS is technically online. The touch screen would be perfect for C&C.

Uh, the DS has a lot of online games. Besides, the PSP's control scheme would be horrible for an RTS.

Also, I think that the DS would be able to handle graphics better than RA for the PC. Huh

Well tell you truth, I myself bought a DS for IRC usage on the go, then I started finding all these clearence games that are a few years old...they are addicting, the DS's graphics power is actually really good, it's just most games dont use it's capability, I was playing brothers in Arms and the graphics seen probably the best for the DS, gameplay is good, and trooprm....dont talk bad till you own the machine, I own a psp too, and I have yet to play any game which seems addicting online.

I might buy a DS second hand, They look awesome and Mario Kart is just full of win. Rocked Over

Also, Red Alert 2 on a DS would rock so hard. Thumbs Up

As a person that has been involved in the PSP homebrew community for over 4 years and an owner of 3 PSPs (one 3.40 OE-A, one 1.5, and one 2.71 thanks to my bro.) i can honestly say you are wrong. Though the graphical power on the PSP greatly surpasses that of the DS, the DS's touch pad makes it very suitable for a C&C tittle.

IRC DS and Web browser rocks, they both run at full speed and work just fine for me, I'd so glad the ds has a touch screen as typing in stuff on irc without touchscreen would kill me.

Plus i wouldnt get mario kart, hacker n00bs with custom hacked roms or action replay cheats on always win, they can stop you from driving, make you slow, have instant acceleration and infinite powerups....they ruined the game.

IRC and web browsing are homebrew which cant run on the DS stock, they need a r4ds or m3 lite to play .nds homebrew, these cost about 30-40 us dollars and you need a micro SD card, about 1 gig.
