I just installed renegade on another computer and whenever I click on multi player internet it says your installed version of Westwood Online is incompatible with the product.

Please install the Westwood online component.

What should I do to fix this?

Basically, re install Renegade and in the installer, There should be a box with "Install Westwood Component's."

Tick the box and carry on! Thumbs Up

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

Also, tick ONLY that box. You don't need to reintsall any of the game, so that'll save you some time.

That has the components; just like installing from the Renegade disk, only have the components ticked.

You tried our suggestions, right? Either have fixed this problem in every case I've seen. You may have installed an older Westwood game after installing Renegade, and those install older WOL components. Installing over it with the WOL components shipped with Renegade fixes that.

I uninstalled renegade, deleted the Westwood file, and tried installing renegade with the internet components both from renegade and APB, yet it still gives the message.

I've searched the computer for some of the files that are found in the internet components, but they have only shown up in the file that installed for Renegade. I'm not sure what else to try...

Try deleting the Internet folder in the Westwood folder and install again.

Hmm. I'm thinking that the problem isn't with the components themselves. Try disabling your firewall before logging in.

Hold up, are you trying to install Renegade from the CD, or from TFD?

Because the TFD components sometimes don't work. When I installed the CD's components for my TFD version, it started to work just fine.

Well, he tried installing the components from the APB FDS, which should have worked after installing over that.

I've tried with both APB components and the CD. I'm not sure the firewall would be an issue because I already have one computer with Renegade working, but the other one on the same router won't work. My AOL safety and security firewall is always turned off as well.

What about other Westwood games? Do those work online well? (if applicable)
