Meh, it's definitely not your scripts.dll or anything like that...did you try to hex-edit server.dat?

I'd say server.dat needs to be replaced, just download the one from Black intel and see if the server loads, if not, check serial, hostname, and passwords.

Yeah, using renegade reassurection ssgm, and that lua plugin for ssgm.

Edit: Ok, I found the problem. I installed ssgm wrong apparently. I put the ini file in the wrong folder.

Yes. I used the serial in the sticky topic, and changed it to my game serial that I had to find through regedit. Plus I tried 3 different accounts + passwords with the server. Still won't start up.

I cant even get that far with my fds anymore, I miss my old server....

Your problem is a bad hostname or password/key

Make sure your hostname is ok and exist, make sure your password is 8 digits, and make sure your using your renegade serial without the - inbetween the numbers.....I WISH MY FDS WORKED AGAIN *cries*

Thats not a generator...it's a serial changer.....although the serial it always presents me when loading the serial changer isnt my serial it's always random........maybe it COULD be a serial generator...but i dunno if the serials it shows me (the ones that arent mine on startup) will work or not with a FDS......bluethen you gave me an idea...that might work and bring my server back

mine just says

"detecting bandwith.....1mbps detected
Failed to login
retrying
Failed to login
retrying"

Maybe using that will work,...dunno

I've had weird times when hosting as a certain name wouldnt work so I added a 1 to it...then it worked......hmmmm

Except thats NOT your game serial, its a HASH of your game serial, and CANNOT be used on the FDS to make it login to XWIS. You need the original serial from the back of your game manual.

...Install fds, install ssgm, install server.dat at blackintel.org, set everything to desired settings, use the "serial changer" at http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=msg&th=19368&start=0&rid=2 0681 and use the serial it gives you and put that in the serial place in the settings file, and tada.
