 RenGuard screws my Renegade [message #271116] |

After i got RenGuard installed... not for long I played using it, now it frequently made my Renegade quit by itself randomly, and even freezes my game for no reason... can someone help me and tell me what a best solution for it, because it's occuring very frequently each day.

Nope, 0 error messages, I told you something weird happening with my RenGuard it made the game quit by itself without me telling it to quit. RenGuard basically said i left the specific server that's it... 0 error message. Even suddenly the game froze..... only happen with RenGuard running... RenGuard thinks i quit the servers/maybe the game which i didn't...

If it doesn't give you an error message, then it seems to me that it is not Renguard exiting your game but rather Renegade crashing. Did you change your scripts-version recently?

Well that's partly true, i just downloaded new skins, like blue sbh, stanks, paintball bulletholes, golden beacons, etc. I think they changed my scripts. But if i'm not mistaken renguard been weird before i installed those skins 3 days ago, but it gone worse after i installed the skins and i didn't notice it, since it was doing auto-quit game before i got those skins, but yeah now it's worse. I'll delete those skins...coolie skins =/. But again i think skin only affect the problem max 70%, the other 30% i'm not sure.....

Well... i think deleting the skins still didn't fix my altered files i think i got to reinstall the game and renguard? So they're all fresh?

Scripts 3+ uses DX9 which may be a cause for crashes depending on your system. I don't know if you installed these scripts recently.
A reinstall is never a bad idea to fix crashes. There's a list of 9 steps to reinstall Renegade as a sticky in the "renegade client" subforum.

arghh i found out what mostly screws me up after having renguard... the core patch! i didn't download them now it runs perfect again...and when i installed core patch some weird stuff alrdy happens to my game...for example the words on load screen for multiplayer all gone (like the tips... about engineers, c4, MCTs, etc), now i reinstalled without core patch the words are there again and i never experience game auto-quits...for now so what affects my game mostly i think is the core patch 2nd my skins 3rd still mistery because i think my renegade might still quit by itself like back then even before i got core patches and skinks installed but for now it looks fine...

Well... yup so far without the core patch I re-installled,i got 0 game bug that made my renegade auto quit servers and/or games...but i miss them sounds like "i got a present for you"-remote c4 "c4 is set, fire in the hole!"-timed c4, beacon countdowns etc...=/

Eh craps i reinstalled my comp, reinstalled renegade, then reinstalled renguard, this time the corepatch auto-downloaded with my renguard (last time it didn't)... My game crashes, froze, quits by itself AGAIN right after i got renguard with corepatch 2.... Before I reinstall renguard it didn't quit by itself at all... so can anyone tell me what's the name of the core patch update files? (like __.dll or something like that) I wanna keep RenGuard and the Renegade itself, I just wanna get rid of the core patch that's been a pain in my arse when playin renegade with it.....

You need to reinstall completely and put core patch updates off. It's not just a list of files that's changed.

Well renguard forces me to install core patch and automatically... And yes my hard disk broke last time, I bought new 1, and reinstalled windows... lost all drivers etc, pretty much screwed...but i got most of em back...well in my directx diagnostic tools it said i have direct x version 9... so but i'll try to download it again or something..so i dunno man the core patch auto installed... if i don't install it it won't run renegade...and it didn't ask me the option to not download it...only have the "Disable Core Patch Updates"...but when I clicked that it said error... so I don't know...
