So it goes like this.
One day me and our server operator were talking, he had finished adding a new scripts.dll mod to the serer and ready to turn it on, no go, our hostname "a0000000u" would not work. So we remade a new name and it worked, and it so happened, after that I saw a server called Wittebolx marathon, i looked at the hostname and what do you know....our clan's hostname was stolen by him, we kept thinking serials were the issue of our server, but using several different serials didnt help, because the hostname was already logged in and being used to host Wittebolx. I have talked to a few people, but they say they have no relation to him and cannot help me, we have proof that it is our hostname as many of our members also remember it beig a, seven zero's and a u at the end....so beware, a00 names are rare now so protect yours! (we have no clue how he got it's password, but we do have some ideas)
EDIT: We are pretty sure how he did it, and we have proof that he played in our server too:
-[AoB]Chopper- [NR] wittebolx last played in this server 2 Week(s), 5 Day(s), 2 Hour(s), 35 Minutes(s), 7 Seconds(s) Ago.
THus being in the server with some hack or ability, he could have accessed our password to the hostname and used it for his own marathon server.

Hmmmmmm seems pretty good, but what if he already did it to his own server....thus changing our password we set?
it seems possible he could have deleted then remade the username with a new password hmmm

You don't need to know the current password to reset it. You just need to know the serial it was registered with.

No, I checked my logs, checked SS's of his hostname, even his sig says "a0000000u" 7 zero's same as ours....we logged in with paging it EVERYDAY when we played i remember typing my pass all the time too......plus, it's not a000000t, thats his other server hostname, he has 2.

XWIS names can not be deleted, only "recycled" which frees up one of your 9 allowed nicknames per serial. The nickname can not be re-registered once it has been recycled, and it takes an XWIS admin to undelete a nickname once you have deleted it.

You don't give it a new password, it generates a new one randomly.

If it didn't give you the new password right after you typed "reset passwords" then you did something wrong.

This sounds similar to the Black-Brigade and Kamuix incident over the 'a00000004' nick. Basically what happened was that Kamuix apparently registered it with his serial first, but XWIS completely failed at telling Infinint that the nick was already taken, and set the password to what Infinint put in. We had used it for some 8+ months before he got his grubby hands on it, and XWIS just sat back and twiddled their thumbs after "proving" he registered it first.
But, I guess that's all in the past, and now that nick rotates between several servers like a cheap hooker.

Your story makes absolutley no sense whatsoever, considering if kamuix registered the nick to start with using his serial, then the nick belong to kamuix, no one else, he can do with it as he pleases.
As for this other nick AoB is talking about, I wouldnt suggest trying to delete a nick that you do not own/that doesnt belong to your serial. If its not YOUR nick, its the server hosts nick, and you delete it, you might find yourself in a very bad spot.

Take your ADD pills. XWIS never gave Infinint the "this nick is already taken, a-hyuck!" message that was supposed to pop up. Instead, it let him set his own password for it and we used it for a long time.

to clear things up.
im hosting my servers at AOhost.
i had a0000000t for a while and asked who had the a0000000u.
it was in use, so badluck.
after a while i asked again if it was in use and the answer i got was NO, it isnt anymore, so i asked if i can use the nick for a second server and as you can see.. no problem, because im using it at the moement.
BlackIntel gave some nicks to aohost in exchange for something.
so the owner of this nick is Aohost at the moment, and im using it with the permission of aohost, bacause the nick was not in use, that nick is only available if you rent a server at aohost.
so i dont steal! i asked for it.

I was pretty sure it was Cat998 but due to the confusing-ness of XWIS' admin panel, I wasn't 100% sure.
Anyway, this is cleared up apparently, so locky.
