United C&C Renegade Community
I've lately noticed that the number of online players has dropped to 600 or so. With all the extra servers popping up on the Advanced Server Listings and the decrease in players I've found myself thinking that I'd like to see a united community arise. If you've played Red Alert: A Path Beyond (the Renegade conversion) you'd notice that there's only one main server that everyone goes to and plays on. I find this convenient because you don't have to look through about 100 servers and you don't lag when the list loads. You just simply select the game, enter, and play. Most of the players you meet on the server are nice individuals and there aren't many rules so you don't have to worry about being banned the instant you walk in the server.
There are alot of great communities out there right now, but with the lack of people it's come to my attention that these great communities should get together and create on large C&C Renegade community and each have a hand in building the best community we can build. Could you imagine what the website would look like? Could you imagine the databases? The possibilities would be endless if everyone got together to build one last large community.
What would you have to lose? - Ultimate authority as a Founder/Owner.
What would you have to gain? - Read further...
You'd still have power/permissions but you'd work together in a group. Everyone would take turns doing stuff. For modifications each month people would select a map to modify and the next month they'd get to choose another map and so forth. For website work everyone with a good knowledge of what they're doing could participate in building it and making it more sophisticated than any other site. For forums all founders could have their own forum, a division, for their select people and there would be a main forum where everyone could communicate. As for servers, you'd save more money because you wouldn't need to have so many servers on the Advanced Server Listings. In one large community people that donate would help maintain the servers and might even help give the community as a whole more money for more work on the website/whatever else needing a tune up.
So in all, the community would be united, everyone would know more people and have more connections, costs would be lower, servers would be filled, modifications would change on a monthly basis, news would spread quicker, progress on projects might excel.
It's up to you though, I can't do anything alone, it has to be a community effort or none at all. If you're with me then please contact me letting me know and you'll be added to a list of supporters.
Remember, the only people losing power would be founders but they'd still technically be in charge of their division and people and they could still run their own server for tests, etc. Founders would have power in the new united community but they'd be more of a team then a solo. I'm not asking that founders/owners shutdown their communities, I'm asking that they come together to create a united community and if they have second thoughts they can just return to their old community.
It's all up to YOU! Do you support me? (Vote in POLL)
