| Jelly Mod Cheating? [message #267807] |

Well, start up renguard, joined jelly 2 (20 player server)
It was islands felt like sniping went into the tunnels, went around killed a few peps, mid game a guy "beriney" shows up in the tunnels killing everyone, he started from 0/2, to 17/2 in about 10min. He killed me twice, and it wasnt even hugging, i could see him aiming at me directly thro the glass, at which point I got suspicious. What do you know, pops out headshot, it happenes twice. Meanwhile he been in the tunnels, and has had to get ammo refills but has been full health. Meet him in the tunnels again, turn on fraps, boom, get em half health with a havoc by hugging, he goes around the corner. As im comming around, I see an engi pop out of the nod side of the tunnels and runs towards us (the person had no idea what they were doing), he was facing me but closer to the engi running at him (he was facing me and didnt see the engi), next second, what do you know, he does a 180 turn and looks directly at the engi, then manually spins himself around and I die.
I get out of rene, no video, appearently fraps wont record if oyu dont have enought space, but I still had like 500mb left on my hdd (i know its low but still). So i got to jelly 2 IRC to see if I could en explantion or anything from him. Hes says a few things:
1)I asked if he uses renguard, he said: "not atm". Make your own assumptions.
2)he tries to say it was "x", rofl.
3)btw did I mention hes a "trial mod/admin"?

i think hes using the aim bot provided in R** <---no n00bs can see  as when you press shift and it points you at ur closest enemy

troop, next time you suspect them of having such cheat tell them to turn around and type ":D" and if during that time he all of the sudden does 180 on you then..... you know it

Well both of you are partially wrong
a)yes ofcourse I know that, its worked on several people I have tested, but newer versions of the aimbot dont work like that
b)stealth, althought I forgot it then, he was using the older version, know how I know? 0x90 fixed that ":D" thing by setting it to that u only lock on to people in your field of view, BUT that beirney guys was watching me while moving backwards, and didn't see how close to engi was to him, +he wasn't using renguard "atm" so the old version would have worked, +he just would turn it off if anyone got susicious.
c)thats the other thing thats fucking pissed me off, the fact the no one else noticed, just said "WTF" and moved on.
d)right after I quit ingame saying, "nrg*" he left the game miliseceonds after we and went stright to IRC where I was, and i said, "r u nervous or something?", and he ignored it

Its a good thing more people are noticing the cheaters on the Jelly servers. I've experienced my fair share of cheaters in that server. One thing I can't explain is a regular on their AOW1 server uses some cheat that kills you while you're inside your vehicle. I've encountered that almost 5 times now and frankly its annoying. I've also noticed many snipers on their server who get kill after kill without missing. That relates to what Troop is talking about.

500 mb i pity you,
anyway getting back to the main point some mods build up trust then start to cheat, by this point no outsider will be able to appeal to higher mods as their opinion counts for bugger all.
Jamie is a guys name in Europe...

Troop, you really are something.
Why on earth post it on these forums. That would actually be a retorical question, since we all know why. Your attitude towards this case is all but polite. Do you even have real evidence?
No, you have no clear evidence what so ever, except for your own experienceds, wich would be stored in the same brain that decided to post a thread like this on the renegade forums.
I am an experienced sniper myself too, and I will give you some renegade insights.
Aiming through glass? The wonderfull aspect of glass is that its transparent, wich means... you can look through it! See someone walking behind it, aim for the head, and when you both move around the corner you pull the trigger, no need for a targetbox what so ever. Apperently you need to work a little on your aiming and he beat you to it.
Getting from 0/2 to 17/2 within 10 min, thats as easy as baking a cake. You just need the experience.
Now there is an indication he might use aimbot, okay you have me all ears and I am really interested in the evidence. It seems you fcked up recording the video. Well what do I have now? No evidence what so ever, just an indication by a person who thinks these threads should belong on renegadeforums, thats not really convincing.
Either you knew you had no evidence in hands, and if you posted this on jelly-server it would not take long for everyone to notice that, so you posted it here. Or you decided to post it here to get us a bad name in the renegade-community, a little mud-throwing contest.
As for the questions. We ran a half-renguard server a month ago, though we disabled our renguard-functions on the bot because renguard had massive player-drops and was (at that moment) a pain for most players ingame, I am aware it is running stable now, we just havent seen any reason to switch back. I myself play without rg alot too nowadays, moderators are no longer forced to used rg on our server.
Now did you just mention he is a trial/admin? Where the hell do you get your information from? Do you even know the difference between a trial-moderator and an administrator? Because it's a huge difference. He is a normal moderator @ jelly-server.
Im a nice guy, and usually handle these threads professional and polite, but the reason I avoided a polite reply is the little effort you took before posting this. The little respect you just showed is a pitty, even after I unbanned you for racism on our server a while back, you still decide to play it nasty.
I will reply to a few people who posted in this thread too.
sadukar09: If you can base that decission on this kind of information, then I hope you are not a moderator on a renegade server.
Dave S. Anderson: Take appropriate mesures then, page irc/join irc. contact moderators, take a screenshot and post on our forums. If you could not be bothered then I don't think you can use these arguments.

^If he was randomly jumping while shooting the other player, I could acknowledge as he may accidentally hitting the X button (default 180 degree turn) but if he wasn't he has no reason to suddenly turn around and kill an engineer, instead of another sniper which has a chance to kill him on the next shot.
But who really believes troop anyway?
