So what do you guys think of Safari?

I'll give my opinion once I use it a little longer.

I like the font smoothing.
It seems really slow to me, for some reason (a lot slower than Firefox anyway):- It always seems to get stuck for ages with the progress bar just after the second w in www.
The UI isn't exactly terrible, but I definitely prefer the iTunes one.
(Fits in well with a MacOS WindowBlinds theme though!)
If anyone has noticed, the text input boxes have a handy handle in the bottom-right corner where you can make them larger. It messes up some websites though.

I think I'll stick with Safari on MacOS for now. Big Grin

One of the things i done when i first got my Mac was remove Safari from the dock and replace it with Firefox.

According to this keynote speech though, Safari 3 is supposed to be loads faster. Custom plugins and themes just rule it out in my opinion, so i went for Firefox.

It's terribly insecure and full of stupid programming mistakes.

I looked at a speed comparison and whilst Safari is faster than Opera in the majority of the tests they did it's just not worth it.

You obviously haven't done any real research. On Windows Opera is faster than FF ( http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html )and more secure ( http://secunia.com/product/12434/ vs http://secunia.com/product/10615/ ). It was also the first to pass the Acid2 Test. Firefox has extensions which allow it to do more than Opera, and that's why I have both.

I stick with Firefox mainly for the extensions, I don't care about any random Acid2 tests. As long as website look right to me I don't care. Razz

Also, Opera's interface annoys me for some reason.
