Is it just me, or do a bunch of people get this error? I've asked time and again how to combat this and no one seems to know. Any ideas? It was fine up until about patch version 1.034 then it started to get worse after that. Someone sugested that it is my DSL router, but it worked fine before. Just wanted to bring it up again if anone has any sugestions. Maybe there is a configuration in my router that I need to change. Becasue of this, I cannot play on any REOL server out there. WOL is down so I'm having Renegade withdrawls! Sad Help!!!

First off I'd suggest downloading your Product Manual if you dont have a hard copy on hand.
http://support.dlink.com/downloads/

Via the PDF view page 23 "Special Applications"
Basicly this allow you do designate specific ports to be open for apps that require multiple connections see the below quote from the Westwood Support site :
"What firewall ports do I need to open to play on WOL? Why can't I connect to WOL?

Be sure you have a stable internet connection. Also, if you have a Firewall or Router please open the standard WOL ports. You will need to enable some ports to UDP traffic in order to communicate with Westwood Online. Ports 1234, 1235, 1236, and 1237 should allow UDP traffic. Also, ports 7000, 3840, 4005, 4808, and 4810 will need to be opened for all TCP traffic. If you do not know how to configure your firewall, please consult your firewall documentation, contact your system administrator, or contact your Internet service provider."

Basicly what it sounds like you need to get ur router to open up the above listed ports -- it may take a little trial and error but IMO this is whats causing your issue.

Hope this help,

The One

ps. Like page 23 in the PDF says u may need to use the DMZ Host in Misc Items.

I got the same problem with a lot of servers after version 1.037. No REOL server will connect for me unless i'm in Active internet mode which is a pain. I use an Alcatel Speed Touch Pro ADSL router which is connected to my hub and routes the ADSL over the hub. If i call up the router and tell it to connect in VPN mode then the port errors go but this is a pain because no one else can use the internet when i'm in this mode. I have the manuel for my router but i thnk i have to use telnet to set up the advanced settings as the webpage configuration doesn't have them as far as i know.
