Recruit

this is what you need to do if renguard/renegade is not responding,

press crtl.alt.delete, end update.exe,
try it now and it will update,
then launch gain and....VOILA

hmm when i loaded it it said always.DBS is something as a wrong file
i put it in another empty file,
launch renegade/renguard,
then i said no WOL name found, connecting with WOL probally fails,
click launched renegade screen stays black Angry

any1 knows how to solve this problem?

Go to your renegade directory and delete d3d8.dll

then it still says:
Warning: No WOL name found. Connecting to WOL will probably fail.
and screen stays black when loading renegade

the d3d9.dll is the only thing that causes the renegade screen to stay black afaik.

The other renguard message means you haven't logged into Xwis (Wol) yet. When you log in, it won't say it anymore.

The WOL name not found wont be a problem, you just need to login to XWIS, and then exit renegade and renguard and load both up again.

I had this problem before, it was caused by CP2 overwriting scripts.dll 3.x with the CP2 scripts, which dont have shaders. Either download the latest scripts and install the 4 .dll files ( scripts.dll, bhs.dll, shaders.dll and d3d8.dll ) or download 2.9.2 and install that, deleting shaders.dll and d3d8.dll first.

k all good renegade works, except this
cause i only installed it less then a month ago it said when clicked advanced game listings, a new version of renegade is avaliable,
so ok i click download it when it was at 18.7 of 18.7 nothing happened,

whats the cause of that?
i clicked cancell cause it was taking to long is there anything wrong with this?

That's patch 1.037. The auto updater doesn't always work well. You can get it manually from ftp.westwood.com and need to install it before you install renguard.

great another problem
renegade works... logging in.... server list empty? message says have fun etc. 400 players playing but i cant see the server list
how comes?
and do i need to download xwis or is it alreadyy installed with renegade/renguard?

I had the same problem so I went into the add/del programs and deleted rengaurd - restarted my computer then when I restarted renegade the renguard updated and the next time I restarted it worked (with renguard). I did not reload renguard btw.
