Even if he was still here is is to much of a douchebag to give it to us, it just sits on his HDD and goes to waste.
Crimson has it to to my knowledge but EA wont let her share so... 
She could let them get "stolen" off her computer though...

Post author and posters are absolutely right though. Originally Renegade was supposed to be released at the end of the year 2000. The graphics somewhat looked better on Renegade's alpha versions: There were way more animations, a better Hud, more gameplay modes, cooler explosions, better buildings etc.
You could still find a lot of that stuff in Renegade's always.dat. Lots of unused sounds, textures and animations were just thrown into that folder.
But all this doesn't mean Renegade isn't a good game. Sure it doesn't have a good engine, or good graphics and all that, but in theory it is a very good game. Developers such as Epic games are only now starting to realise that as they introduce teamplay-based game modes. Like in Unreal Tournament 3, there's going to be a mode very similar to C&C mode; where you buy your vehicles etc. instead of spawn points.

Yeah! I always wondered why Renegade (which was released in 2002), had the graphics of the 1998 game Incoming by Rage Software.
Incoming is a great game that I play...still great graphics and I found it hard to believe that Renegade looked like that...aren't games supposed to be better as time goes on?
But even under tremdous pressure, Westwood released a game with unbeatable and a unique Multiplayer mode that has kept the heart going for Renegade.

Second bad impression:
Westwood: We are going to make a few patches to fix what we could not get done because of you forcing it out so early.
EA: okay, but don't spend to much money, we did not make as much as expected off of your stupid game
Westwood: okay, we have finished our patch that allows flying aircraft, now all we have to do is improve the controls and add a few more multiplayer game mods, then start working on Renegade 2.
EA:Oh, um did I forget to mention, beings Renegade did not sell as much as expected, we are disbanding Westwood.
Westwood: ....
EA: well cu you guys around, or not, in the mean time we will continue to repackage you games more and longer then almost any other game.
Westwood: I suppose this is necessary to continue making your sports games *rolls eyes*
EA: na, we are working on a new Barby game, it is going to be the ..... ect.

At least they managed to get VTOL physics in.
I want the source code for Tiberian Sun aswell, tons of people still play/mod it and I would kill for working a dropship....
