Most of the site blocking is done via the router has its much more secure. When you try access a blocked site what exactly happens?

There are ways around such blocks but if work is blocking these sites, its probably for a good reason. Also, if you use these blocks, its a good bet that you will get in trouble for it (if your work is anything like the last place I worked at)

You're talking about a proxy site, right?

You could try:

www.concealme.com
www.hidemyass.com
www.nodeproxy.com

or you can go to Google language tools and tell it to translate a site into english. (It doesn't matter from what language but it doesn't always work, either!)

Don't blame me if you get fired, though.

I've dealt with Websense a fair bit, it's an ass. Depending on the settings, some URLs you visit get submitted and are scanned by a Websense server. If a proxy is found, that site's added to a proxy-list of bad sites, which your work's filter will download at some point.

The best way to get around Websense is to use a private proxy where you have to login to get to the form - then the scanner can't see it and thinks it's a clean website.

I have to agree with light and jonwill. Just wait till you get home. Myspace sure as hell isn't worth losing your job over.

If your school uses Websense too then it looks like it's already in the proxy database...unlucky! If you have access to some webhosting, I can give you a PHP proxy script if you want. Works for any website other than Hotmail (Google Mail works) as long as you have cURL installed on the webserver. Most proxies don't get around Websense because it catches the URL too if it isn't encrypted. Send me a PM if you want it.

Start -> Run -> "cmd" -> ping myspace.com

(Replace myspace.com with whatever site you wish to view that is blocked.)

Simply take the IP that is retrieved from the PING'ing of domain you're trying to access and enter it into your 'Address' bar on IE or FF or whatever browser you use.

Thanks,

^ Or, you can use the cheap way Razz jk
One warning...using the IP instead of the domain has it's draw-backs...For instance, the browser doesn't load the CSS as the stylesheets are located at the domain, not the IP.

How is that any different? It's not your network and the school doesn't have to pay for you to use facebook, myspace and youtube when you're supposed to be learning.
