Free Targetting Problem - Won't hold in mode [message #258743]

I just reinstalled the game and started playing it after a VERY long time. The only problem is free targetting won't "hold"

I set the free targeting button (so your cammera follows your mouse) to the button /. The only problem is that every time I press any of the arrow keys to drive anywhere my screen drops out of free targetting mode. This is very frustrating because even if I try to turn my tank a little bit or move forward a bit my turret and view go back to straight forward. Not too much fun.

Any idea's? Thats the only keystroke I've changed btw. This is a fresh renegade install with the recent patch on it from westwood. No new scripts.dll yet.

You can setup Ren so your view is always locked to your turret.

To do it with the V key you have to hold the key down. If you want it on all the time follow gozys link above. (Anyone who does not have this turned on will struggle to win tank battles anyway)

I remember when I used to play all the time a few years ago I would just hold the button. I'll try the thing that locks my cammera on the turret at all times later this afternoon.
