Astronomers have found the most Earth-like planet outside our Solar System to date, a world which could have water running on its surface.

That's interesting. What a bummer that it's 20.5 light years away.

Hahah... this is a cool development, though. I've always contended that our "perfect" conditions to support life could, based on probability, happen near any of the billions of stars out there. This is neat stuff!

The fact that this has been found so close to us, comparatively, is amazing. If there's one earth like planet that close, just think of how many more there could be out there.
As long as this isn't just someone sneezing all over the instruments, awesome.

Depends on how fast you make it move. Wink

Oh, that's assuming that neither some random asteriod gets in its way or that there is intelligent life on that planet, who then perceive it as a threat, work out where it came from, blow it up, and send something back...

This is all contingent of course on if the planet has an atmosphere thick enough to support liquid water.

Why does the article call it a "super-Earth?" Maybe they think it has kryptonite on it.

Yeah, I read that.

It's a shame they can't call it kryptonite. :<

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

Hidden planet in Jupiter?

Anyway, that planet may not last for long because it's star is older (if I'm not wrong).

Also, something bad could have happened to that planet by now.

Crap! I've been found...

No! It's a weather baloon, or swamp-gas, or a cheese stain on the lens!

Heh, this reminds me of Eridani Epsilon.
