havent heard anything in awhile... how is it going along..., also, is there any progress in redoing the formula for the ladder so people who play 750 games a month arent going to be in first

The formula reprocessing isn't going to be reviewed until the old system isn't 100 % back.
Thyere has been some progress on in-game ranks on servers that are in the beta test. I'll let BHS bring the news if they want to, though.

As of a couple of days ago, you shouldn't see Recruit if you play on a server that is participating in the ladder.

from what ive understood from past discussions, that seems to be the goal that they have in mind, along with reconstructing the formula to eliminate the effect that the number of games you play has on your ranking on the ladder.

Right... we have restored the ladder to its old functionality. But once we have a free moment outside of fiddling with RenGuard, I will assemble a small group to adjust the ladder formula.

I got a couple of questions. Does it matter what server u play on for the amount of ladder points u get? What I mean is I normally play on a 20 person server and the winners usually get no more that 80-90 points and the other day I played on a 40 person server and the winners got over 400 points.
1. Does it matter what server u play on? ie Jelly/Noobstories/ect
2. The size of the server. ie 20/40 and so on.
3. The type of game.
4. And if there is an imbalance between server
owners/sizes/etc...Why?

Yes, you get more ladder points if there are more players in the server. The theory is that you had to beat more people to get where you are.

type of game shouldn't matter apart from the fact that servers that would normally provide stupid ladder (CTF & co-op) should be excluded from the ladder all together.
Ladder as it stands is based purely on the number of points you get, whether you win or lose and the size of the game.
This is the reason many people want the formula to be reviewed.
