Does Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI work for alpha blend (I am going to buy it, but if it doesn't I don't want to wast my money).
If it doesn't give me a link to a version that does.

Just use Photoshop CS2 or download a trial version and find out (of psp).

*Chokes* 499 dollars for Photoshop CS2. I could buy a new computer for that much.

Did you just tell me to search for torrent?

Just use Photoshop CS2 or download a trial version and find out (of psp).

The trial does not let you save.

What a shitty trial then.

Tbh if it doesn't let you save on the trial version it's probably not worth getting. Oh, and btw, download PSCS2 through torrents. (yes, i did tell you to search for torrents).

All I need is a program that does alpha and does not distort the original image, I do not want to buy a program that cost 5x more but works just as well. I hear about Paint Shop being used a lot more for this than photo shop.

I use paintshop, and I can use it just fine with alpha layers.
The dds plugin doesn't export transparancy though, but png->seperate dds converter->dds is only a matter of seconds.

The only imaging program i know that doesn't support transparancy is mspaint.

so you think XI's alpha will work? As for dds, i am only using tga right now, before Renhalo's release I will converter all the textures I can to dds using my converter, and then I will be happy.

Im using 9, wich is unable to export to transparant tga's. But by using png as an in between step, i never really find that a problem.

I've been looking for quite a while too for it, for some random reason i prefer it over newer versions. Eventually i found it on my backup drive.

However, i do recall a installer was reachable by using google. But be prepared for a long search.

DDSC2 is the converter i was talking about.
