We had D.A.R.E. in the 2nd Grade. The program did nothing for me.

I meant it did not benefit me to have that class because I still tried a few drugs when I was a freshmen/sophomore in high school.

I did it, but don't recall a thing. lol

I learned everything later, and it's probably better that way. I can imagine it being incredibly biased.

Not everything is as it appears
Untouchable
We had dare when I was in grade school. In WI they cut that program to save money. Something I think is good because the class did not have the effect it was supposed too.

Are you guys talking about that game you used to play when you were little? A bit like spin the bottle but, without the bottle.

You never seemed like the type who would do that. You seemed more than happy to be in your own little world. At least, that's the impression I got when you first joined.

whoa.

I was just too curious about the effects of getting high, so I smoked some Marijuana with some old friends I used to skate with. I have to admit that it was fun, but I'll never do it again.

I went through 3 years of it, even before hearing and learning about them, my parents always taught me not to do drugs, alot of my friends did anyways, half are dead from drunk car accidents, death from drug overdose and just a bunch of stupid things teens do for fun, well right now, playing renegade, i'm having alot more fun being drug free than them not playing anything 6 feet under the ground.

I went through the DARE program as well. Like AoBfrost it was an ongoing thing. From... 4th to 7th grade I beleive. It was pretty frivolous for me, I'd never use drugs anyhow. I can't offer any sort of estimate however how effective it was on people who had not made that concious decision and later had the option to do drugs. I don't know very many people who smoke weed.

i see it here on sides of busses all the time. never took it but then again i never went to junior high in north america lol

i did once see a cop on some police show on spike tv pull over this methhead and when he went through her purse he found a DARE certification of completion of the course. and he asked her how she could be a meth addict and still have this and she said it was her son's and then he grilled her for about 30 mins on how her son has accomplished more than she ever could while being like 15! personally i think that the program really would dont have much more impact then aducating kids about the effects and the after effects of drugs. i mean you cant force or brainwash a person not to do drugs simply by making them take the course when they were young. most addicts became addicts while being fully aware of the drugs they were taking. so in the end its still the person's decision to do drugs and nothing will stop them from doing it.
