I play Renegade on my laptop and I have RenGuard installed.
But I can't get into Renegade without an active internet connection. It's says something like "Renguard can't connect" or something like that.
Is there a solution to this? Is there a way to disable RenGuard when I want to play the Single Player missions or Multiplayer practice so that it will open the game?
I don't have wireless for my laptop and there is no internet connection in my bedroom...I have to go to another room to plug the ethernet cable in. But at night, I play the Single Player or Multiplayer Practice and I can't because RenGuard can't connect and so it won't open the game.
Help please!!!

just go to your renegade folder and start game2.exe instead of "renegade.exe" or "game.exe".
when installing RenGuard, it renames the original game.exe (renegade) to game2.exe and copies the RenGuard executable as "game.exe" there... i guess this was the easiest way to "replace" renegade fully (also for any 3rd party tool, for example gamespy, that starts the game).
but this has been asked (and answered) just _so_ many times now!

PS: I searched for it here though...but I could not find any thread that talked about it. That's why I posted (maybe I did not search well).

i dont think its your fault. a generic problem like this is always hard to find! mostly a problem with the keywords to search for
