If you are on the internet you already know most if not all cuss words, so I say FUCK YOU! To any server who kicks for that, I can see if you get out of hand with it but... Come on thats fucking stupid.

We don't like swearing in our server due to the wide age range of people that play in it. If you feel the need to fill the world with your words then do so verbally at home but don't blather it out infront of everyone. If you want to chat you can actually talk, there is no need to start cursing and swearing your face off for no reason. It is a bad habit and something not worth your time.
I use warnings on our server and it is a fair system. 3 warnings and you earn yourself a qkick. Keep it up and it will kick or even ban you. You also get a warning forgiven every four hours so everyday is almost a new day.

So in your server do you prevent mass murder as well? Are your players not allowed to shoot at each other or blow things up? Do they have to keep that at home as well? To say swearing is bad but violance is ok is fucking retarded.

Imitation violence and real-life swearing are two completely different levels. (I would agree if it were comparing real-life violence and real-life swearing)
One is imitation, not to mention the whole point behind playing the game in the first place. You purchase the game knowing the violence will occur.
I, for one, applaud those servers who take a stand against it. There is nothing wrong with allowing people to swear (I help administer N00bstories, and they allow it), but to complain because servers disallow it is, well, retarded in itself.
Say to yourself "Oh no! They won't let me swear!" and see how irrelevant it actually is.
Simply put, if you're not allowed to swear, then don't. It won't kill you to stay silent or change what you would say. Or, don't play there if being unable to swear is going to ruin your experience like that.

I think the point was already brought up that we know that server owners can do what the fuck they like. Think the point of this thread, if it has one, is to know why it would make sense to disallow swearing if the supposed reason for it is because of younger children who are exposed to the violence this game presents. I don't know. Maybe parents think that if they tell children that it's important not to swear, that it's ok not to teach kids the difference between reality and real life

I have no problem respecting someone's rules but I'm just horrible at watching my fucking mouth. I work in an office with adults and we all swear. I live at home with two adult guys and we swear. I am very rarely around children so I don't give a shit what words I say almost all of the time. Pretty much every time I'm on a moderated server, I get warned or kicked.
Another problem is, where's the fucking line? Is "ass" allowed? Is "hell" allowed" Is "damn" allowed? These are generally considered "less" bad than words like "fuck" and "shit". Then there are other words that are even more questionable like "gay" and "fag". I stay away from those servers because I don't have time to fucking check every word I fucking type to make sure I didn't say something that might get me a warning.
