I personally don't read JohnDoe's posts so I don't know if he deserves a ban or not, but I would personally push for Viking.

Its not likely if a person is banned by IP. And if they do, they have unique characteristics that you can't miss.

I don't see the point of this, you want to start banning annoying people from this forum??
You are going to get a long list if you start offering polls on people who havn't broken forum rules.

They what him banned because of statements like these:

Are you related to puddle? It's the same slider that effects every gunshot and explosion, dipshit.

JohnDoe wrote on Sun, 18 March 2007 15:17 | I like how he even put in different colors...hahaha that nerd is beyond help.

Guys, this is retarded, grow up. I don't like how people here are wanting to ban anyone they don't like. The point of a ban is to remove a person who has destruction behavior and is doing harm to this forum. Viking is totally fine. If he annoys you, PLEASE use the ignore button or just don't read his topics. Let him be how he is, there is nothing wrong with that. JohnDoe may be trolling sometimes, but it's not hard to deal with him at all. There is a report button for a reason. I guarantee you that it works, because every moderator gets this highly noticeable indication at the top when something has been reported, and it doesn't get ignored.
Also, a poll like this won't automatically make any decision for us at all. Anybody who votes is voting for nothing.

JohnDoe is rather destructive to this forum, in case you hadn't noticed.

Viking shouldn't even be an issue. I have no idea why people are try to push Viking out along with JohnDoe. He's done nothing wrong.

A forum that can moderate itself is the best kind of forum, after all.

At least some people are actually showing some tact when it comes to the current condition of the forums here.

It is our job to moderate this forum, but we can't do it 24/7. There is no way I can do that; I have school, I have a job, and I have a life. I try to catch as much as I can, and it still isn't enough. If what you said is true, then why is the report button there in the first place? This forum is a community, not some nation governed by a ruler. Everyone should help each other. If you see a destructive post that really bothers you, and instead of reporting it you think "the moderator has to see it and take care of it, I shouldn't even need to press this button", then why do you even visit these forums? Do you even care?

You're right. You can't handle every situation in every forum 24/7, but you need to actually handle situations that need your attention whenever possible. No ones asking you to perform a miracle and make this your day job. Being a moderator requires you to do more than just move threads to the apporpriate forum.

That's the point of every online forum. A forum is a small or large community of people working in the same interests as everyone else. It's the members jobs to help the community grow and be prosporous, but it's the moderators job to actually handle all of the dirty work of eliminating the trolls and keeping the forums clean of worthless crap posts, so that the forum mebers can actually do what they do best, be a part of a community. If the majority of community members feel that someone on the forums is acting totally out of line, then it's their right to bring it to the attention of the forum moderators and administrators so they can deal with the issues themselves and settle on an agreement as to what needs to be done.
If people are willing enough to take the initiative to start a poll to gather punblic opinion as to whether or not a destructive member should be banned, then it shows that people actually do care. They want to help make the forums a better place for all. Members, moderators, and administrators included.

You have good points, but I don't know what you're saying about how I do my job. I do a lot more than just move posts to the proper forums. There's no way you can tell what I do except for that, because that's the only thing that leaves a trail. If I remove a post or topic, it's usually impossible to tell if they were there in the first place. The reason I'm so against banning a member like JohnDoe so fast like this is because it seems to be happening way too much. I don't think we should just throw people out all the time. I feel like it should be taken with more maturity and that we should act like adults about it, instead of just whipping out the ban hammer. I think what really turned me off was how Viking was thrown into this whole thing. That is a perfect example of what I'm talking about.

I voted "I don't care"
Why ban me, I did stuff in the past but I am okay now? Recently have I done anything? Maybe I have some bad spelling or post something dumb every now-and-then but what harm do I do?

JohnDoe has cobtinually verbally abused people and has already been banned for a month because of it. I don't know what Viking has supposedly done, but a ban on JohnDoe wouldn't be unjustified.
I'm the bawss.
