I found a hud skin i like but the armor bar is like silver. And makes the letters hard to see. I was wondering if there is a way to change the number color on the armor bar.

Yes there is, and i hope you have Photoshop skills.

Take one of the HUD .dds files from your data folder and open them in Photoshop (needs plugin), then you can edit the numbers as you wish.

I believe it's more complicated than that but i haven't really edited the HUD so i can't say.

I'm pretty familiar to skinning for renegade at this point. But i dont think the numbers are controlled by the hud.dds.

Here is the .dds for the silver and blue hud skin i use but i saved it as jpg. And i dont see the numbers on it anywhere to change.

U could change the silver color, make it a bit darker Smile

I kinda liked it the way it was but since no one knows how to change the number color. I have changed the armor color to a silver blueish color. Its still a little difficult to see the numbers but you can see them better.

I'm guessing there isn't a graphical way to change the numbers, as they are probably generated by some script, much like the teams at the top right of your screen. I remember some time ago someone made something to change the color of those, and I'm pretty sure it was thru some script. (I may be 100% wrong.)

I dont remember the site i got the hud from but this one comes from a pack of huds. If you want i can upload it but do you want the first one of the one i changed the armor color???

Yea i got the script to change the team colors but im satisfied with them the way they are.

Yea i hated city the most cause it was dark and looked like crap to me. I use to leave the servers when this map come around the rotation.
I made a few skins for it and now it ain't that bad. I just extracted some textures from c&c generals and a few from renegade.

BTW here is a link to jelly skin section they have more huds and other skins there.

actually those are textures simply renamed from the orig ren
make your own hud like i do, just keep it simple. see attachment for a amatuer but simple hud
simple text cant be modified without a large hack for the game, so its colour would have the same difficulty.
we need a generator for a custom game.exe for things like this
