Can someone help me with IRC via telnet. mabe provide some steps on how to do it? the only thing i know is "ping :23345" reply "pong :23345".

What are you trying to do? Are you trying to get mIRC to connect to an IRC server? Are you trying to make an application connect to an IRC server?

why are you using telnet? Just use a TCP connection...

i am, Sbot now fully supports IRC Very Happy

i wanted to use telnet so i know exacly how it works. what the output is like etc...

it turns out, it was working all along. but i needed to put a newline at the end of each command Surprised.

Telnet IS TCP lol, raw TCP connection.

yeah, i gotter ask. im new to sockets and stuff. is a TCP socket isn't raw, what is it?

I think cat just means it is a "raw TCP" connection as in "nothing telnet specific added". It just opens a TCP connection and lets the user enter the data it should send over that connection. It isn't a special way of connecting or something like that, I think that's what confused you. Smile
