Disable the RenGuard sounds in the RenGuard options.

Possible Reasons -

- CPU and/or GPU's are frying out.
- Something or somone has tampered with your operating system, needing a reformat.
- Somewhere in your reinstallation of renegade, some file has been corrupted.

Try using it on a different computer. Reformat, or rebuy the game.

If you read closly, I said data might be corrupted. Usualy happens on scratched up discs, or w.e.

Talk to me on msn if you want help, seargentsarg@hotmail.com I will look into it a bit more.

Btw, you can't check to see ifyour GPU or CPU is frying out, you can only smell the burn of it inside your case.

What's your hardware configuration?
Do other (3D) games run properly?

i think instead of fps drop i think its fps lag.. caused by other clients.. or someone else hosting..

Single player plays excellelntly 120 fps..
If i host a game on ren and run around.. 120 fps.. still..

if any client joins.. it kinda lags my fps.. its not really a drop.. i just can see my fps lag.. like its kinda a glitch that made it lag from 120 to the 18 i now recieve..

Is it a constant 18 fps? Or does it go up and down by a lot? I've had fps lag happen four or five times so far. First few times it was only a minor lag, like it would drop 20-30 fps for half a second. No problem in aow, just couldn't play in sniping servers. Reinstalling ren fixed it a couple times. Last couple times it happend it was major fps drops, like we're talking down to 9 fps for sometimes two seconds. Couldn't play anything really. Only happened to ren. Reinstalling fixed this the first time. Second time I suspected it was one of the data files getting corrupted so I just copied the entire ren folder on my cousin's computer overwriting mine. Fixed it right away. If your staying at a constant low fps, you would assume it was your video settings on both your card and ren. But only when in a multiplayer room. Has to be your connection somehow.... Sorry couldn't be more help.

Security is a myth, no system is secure.....

FPS isn't related to your internet connection. Oh, and SergeantSarg, please stop suggesting solutions that make no sense... Its not going to help him any trying solutions that are going to mess with settings on his computer that he may not know how to revert.
