Just curious for the ones out there who are against this like the person who posted? At what point is it still ok to respond to a topic without getting someone whining about bumping?

There is no real clear dividing line, but I'd say somewhere between 3-4 weeks of no activity.

Unless, like was mentioned, something very relevant comes up. Not simply something to add (you missed your chance), but something relating to information discussed in that topic.

At least, this is how I've always viewed the dead thread idea.

when your whole team is SBH/afk and your the only guy with a tank actually defending.

when some SBH are actually scared to kill the free engineers (spelt that wrong Neutral) and they let them kill a building, when you think about it, a sbh can easily KILL basic character.. stupid noobs.

when your teammate gives the other team a tank, FOR FREE! :/

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

5. Blocking your own teams harvester, intentionally.

This really all depends on the situation.

Blocking the harvey can actually help you win if you think about it in the terms of them not being able to get pointed off it.

- Buying Apaches/Flames/Lights when everyone is blatantly screaming 'STANKS!!!' (especially if someone donates you 4 stank)
- Calling for Mammoth Rushes - FFS MAMMOTHS DONT RUSH THEY CRAWL (although they can be fun Very Happy and they are 1337 with proper support)
- Complaining about refilling (learn how to "HEADSHOT")
- Complaining about Pedistal Beacons (Learn how to "DEFEND")
- Complaining how no one defends when you do nothng but sit in base as a SBH or w/e and dont even bother to buy a repair gun
- Shooting tanks with Sniper rifles (Dont lecture me about how u gain points, points are insignificant, it won't save your base)

Edit..these are just IMO.

To elabourate on the final point, I am aware of the effectiveness of snipers against things like recon bikes and Orcas/Apaches. These are quite effective countermeasures against quick manoeuvre/light armor vehicles. However they are completely USELESS against a flame rush. Somehow I don't think getting 50 points per shot is going to save your infantry bararcks.

I was playing on the map snow last week. I was on nod and I had a teammate who was buying tanks for everyone. Now if you know this map you will know immediately what happened next lol.

No one asked for the tanks and GDI was taking them. He was upset and telling the team it was our fault for not taking the tanks he provided.

The only server I have to buy tanks for others is =UN= cause they have donate disabled >.< otherwise I just donate. Prevents exactly such situations from occuring. However the down side is, people can still buy whatever vehicle they chose. Often when theres a stank rush happening on City Flying, you will get a couple of idiots who will buy apaches. or worse, buggies >.<

or worse someone gets a flamer and flames the stanks on approach. Have seen that a few times.

I was playing the other night and was running into the hand while a sniper was running out apparently to refill. Guess giving up his sniper rifle to save the hand wasn’t on his mind. Lost the hand before I could get there but hey we got a sniper left with full ammo and health left so good for our team.

# (whatever #, i lost track...). Being on a team full of uncoordinated idiots who think they can all take out the entire other team of 20 by themselves with an APC or Medium Tank, then proceeding to go in 1 at a time, get killed, come back, and swear at the other team.

Now I'm not the BEST AOW player, but I have some coordination logic, and could organize a decent rush, too bad all the n00bs don't listen!!!!

I've done one man APC rush with hotwire/tech myself and killed a building, the secret is to go when they are in your base attacking and your team is defending, no one in nod/gdi base then Very Happy
