ever since iv been in college iv never been able to connect to ren, it always tests the bandwidth and then says requesting server list and then times out trying to do so, anyone know wrong?

Your college's firewall/router is blocking the ports needed to connect to WOL. I would suggest using GameSpy to connect. If that doesn't work you're going to have a hard time playing.

Besides that you would probably get a terrible ping because other people use the connection aswell..

Thats very true, considering there are alot of computers connected to one server in a college you will never have a game without massive lag,

it wont lag, iv played it on my schools network before and my ping was below 100, but the school recently blocked many ports, the ones used for half life 2 and ren were among them so im pissed, does anyone know the port renegade uses so i can get it unblocked?

Renegade ports:

Ports 1234, 1235, 1236, and 1237 should allow UDP traffic. Also, ports 7000, 3840, 4005, 4808, and 4810 will need to be opened for all TCP traffic.
