Irritating Error [message #230638]

Recruit

Hi, im from the Fan-Maps servers and want to ask if someone knows a fix for this error

socket: IO::Socket::INET: connect: Unknown error at RenRem.pm line 127.

It becomes suddenly and BR closes down then and the only thing that is getting it up again is restarting my serverbox Sad

hope someone knows how this can be solved

renrem is responsable for creating a connection to the FDS, the line in question is the line which makes the actual connection, so I would assume something else on the system is already using the port that renrem is trying to use, try setting the RemoteAdminPort to something else...

Well that aint the problem i think, i run 4 servers with Brenbot on it and on every server BR shuts down in one instant then. and each one says the same msg when i try to restart them up so its not tied to 1 unfortunatly but all of them. and i use a different port for each one.

The renrem system has not changed since 1.41 or earlier (to the best of my knowledge, I don't think packhunter made any changes there and I certainly have not).

For them all to cut out at the same time suggests something else on the system is interfering with them in some way, maybe a firewall somewhere suddenly deciding to close all your ports perhaps?

Wouldn't that also close down his server aswell? I don't know what to suggest either.
