Problem with Sole Survivor [message #229017]

I am having a problem with the old mod Sole Survivor, I just downloaded it and installed it and every time I try to play it I get this error message:
index.php?t=getfile&id=1976&private=0

I have tried installing Sole Survivor's patch but it didn't help, I also tried it with a brand new install of Renegade (Not Decade) and it still didn't work, can anyone help (My system is XP I just have it set up to look like 98).

Seems like a really wierd error to me, i dont really know what caused that. Maybe you can find a correct Strings.tdb file from someone, cause maybe what you have is corrupted somehow. I know some people who still have the mod, so i presume you just somehow have a bad file. Maybe try even replacing the strings in SS with the one from the ren folder? i dunno otherwise, as i am an idiot Big Grin

Viva la Resistance!

I've recently got SS working in Singleplayer mode, but whenever I go on an MP game (LAN, Internet, Practice) it crashes with no error message. I'm suspecting this has something to do with scripts.dll though... Rocked Over

Weird, Sole Survivor (patched to 1.02 before running it for the first time) runs fine on my computer (XP Pro). Do you have any Core Patches/Renguard installed? The Sole Survivor mod might be incompatible with them, but I haven't tested this. For reference, my Renegade only has a custom boink, jonwil's scripts.dll and bhs.dll 2.9.2, the strings.tdb file that came in the C&C_BunkersTS .zip file, and no other modifications (no skins/Core Patches/Renguard).

This was a fresh install that I tried it on the second time, there were no files in the Renegade folder before I installed it.

I just realized that I never gave you a link to where I downloaded Sole Survivor, so here it is:

I should probably mention exactly how it crashes. First that error message pops up, I press "OK" and bring Renegade back up. Then it plays their little intro movies, after the movies it just crashes to desktop (doesn't even make it to the main screen) without any other error messages or anything.
