Heheh, it's said that in this game, the smarter you are, the harder it is to figure it out since you think the solution is more complicated than what it really is.

Not quite true.
This is thought because "smart" people usually make it more complicated than it really is. Interestingly enough, it was also mentioned that people who pursue a career in this sort of work (ie. Stat/mathematicians) have the hardest time. This is because they are hardwired to thinking in complex terms.
Intelligence has nothing to do with it (heck, I've been tested at an IQ of over 140), but rather how hardwired you are into thinking a certain way. Those who "aren't smart" appear to have an easier time, only because this has not happened to them.

Yeah of course, and there are also other types of intelligence apart from mathematical, I just threw out the usual joke conserning this game.

How'd you work it out?
|
Just count the petals around the roses, they're right there! And if the petals are AROUND a rose, then the rose has to be...
I remember when I first tried to solve this, I tried multiplying, dividing, adding, substracting, tried just every other dice and all. Then my little sister told me I'm thinking too hard, so I just concentrated on the name....petals around the rose. Around....the rose....and it hit me.

I figured the original one out in less than 5 minutes, and I figured the advanced one out in less than 1 minute. The last one I have not figure out yet.
