Where do I find out how to become better in renegade? I don't think that I am that bad, but it seems that I can't compete correctly. When I shoot for the head, I still don't kill everyone. I shoot many several times and they shoot once...It seems that most get a one shot one kill, except for me. This happens to anyone I come against, a normal soldier and up. I understand the weakness/strengths of each character. I just get positioned and then I am dead. I don't want to be a nOOB any longer. Where do I find out how to play better?

Well moving around is a good tactic. Never stand still EVER, not for a fraction of a second, you will die if you do... unless your fighting an idiot anyway.
Getting head shots with a sniper rifle or pistol is a skill many players spend weeks honing to perfection. It's all about reflexes. Try and keep your aiming cursor near their head while still moving around, and the second it turns red whack that mouse button.
If your using a rapid fire weapon keep your mouse button pressed down and keep the aim around the head, not all your shots will hit, but when they do they are going to do some damage. A single headshot from the chaingun is worth 50 damage IIRC. Compare that with the 7 or 8 damage you would get from body shots and you can see why headshots kill people a LOT quicker.
Also be aware that if your aiming for the head you might hit the neak, which is worth 2.5x damage (IIRC), not as much as the headshot (5x I believe), but still a lot better than body shots.
The numbers I gave are just what I can remember off the top of my head, they are probably wrong, but I am at university at the moment so I can't check.

you also have to remember to use the right weapons at the right time; for example:
your enemies wf/strip is down, you have plenty of creds; it is best to buy anti infantry like mobius or havoc; whereas, even though they have a one-hit kill to any basics, sydney(PIC version) and raveshaw arent recommended due to their 1 shot round weapons.

Go to Multiplayer Practice, turn on the friendly fire and shoot at everyone in the head, it can turn in to a real challenge, sometimes.

If you use 3rd person (which you should), aim slightly over the head. Don't try to follow the enemy with your crosshair, wait for him to walk into it. Learn to move as well...it's almost more important than knowing how to aim...sidestep really fast and you'll become warpy for other people.

knowing an effective way of dodging vehicles running you over is useful, because, if you can keep a vehicle distracted, your team could sneak into their base, or, they could destroy it while the veh is busy trying to kill you

Any idea how easy it is to kill a med tank with a rave? or even a light tank with a mobi?
My god, its near perfection.
The point is, learn how to kill tanks, with infantry, and youll be a good player in no time.
Why?
Because, think of this:
The other teams loaded, buying mad meds trying to rush your team.
You have 4-5 good raveshaws around, they will uaualy be shot, and if you even kill 3-4 tanks, your obi/AGT shoudl be able to kill the other 3-4 depending on the drivers skill.
Not to mention, your making them use their money, which looks bad on there team when they have 1000's then in 20 minutes are down to 100's

Unless the base only has a few entrances???
To best learn how to play better, observe what other people are doing well and what you're doing bad and you'll eventually improve.
Also, one way i got better at shooting heads was taking out the automatic pistols and shooting any teamtate in your way to refilling.
