without Crimson we wouldn't have rengaurd, without that we don't know who, or who isn't cheating on a server. not only that Crimson's bhs crew (Crimson included) has to pay for the servers for Rengaurd which must have a massive bill.

also she has made a great job at managing these forums, i have never been to the site to find the site is down or whatever. it is slow on the hour but that is for backup, which is benefitial.
im sure Crimson has done alot more over the years that i don't know about.

i would like to be a reminder to all that have been flaming her.

Ever think that she was being attacked for things that happened regardless of what she's done for the community?

It's hard to assess her worth to a community when all you do is list the pros.

Maybe not, but IMO renguard might not have been adopted so quickly without your backing. And without yourself and BHS there would be no servers to run the RG backend and such.

I don't think anyone's ever really denied she's done some good things for the community. At least, nobody that's not stupid.

Well Renguard was good when it was working.. but now its been bypassed and the servers are flooded with cheaters again, whats the point of keeping the server online and wasting money to keep something alive when its not doing its job.

Maybe it should be shut off till they can release a version thats works.

And go back to the dark ages? I think not. RenGuard is still keeping the honest players honest. Why don't you just tell everyone to go out there and search for a bypass?

Not an accusation, just making a point. But just because someone's done something good doesn't mean there have been on the occasion things that were/are bad. I mean what's your point? Just because someone's done some things right doesn't make *ANYONE* exempt from things they did that were bad. Isn't it good to give criticism? Perhaps we should all blindly accept everything one person says. Wouldn't that be fun/a disaster?

That's what I'm saying in my earlier post.

Plus, it's not necessarily that it happened years ago, but rather the coverup and the lies behind it all.

I don't see why any of Spoony/CW's bullshit is relevant anyway. Crimson is doing nothing at the moment to hurt the communit, and I don't recall her doing anything awful previously. Just remember who hosts the forums, among other things.

Yes, Crimson has done lot for this community.

When I first found out that she was a girl, I was a bit surprised because I think that 90% of people that play games like Renegade are usually men.

Now is it keeping players honest`? Its a commen fact that rg is not working anymore.. unless players are ignorant, Players are using renguard with the cheats then when some player screams cheater! they say I run rg... test me and all that... they hide behide it, also the fact its become a joke of the community, even die hard renguard users that I know who used to use it and force it on our servers feel the same,

Everyday in my local server I see players making jokes about renguard, even in servers I dont play at but ones I watch from irc make fun of it, I have given up defending rg as its no no use anymore, they think its a joke or a virus or rg is for n00bs etc.. why waste money on something thats not working, the money could be used for something useful for the time being.

I never said give up renguard totaly... just untill you have a working renguard that blocks all new cheats which will rename nameless.

I still use it myself and always will but am not blind or ignorant of the fact thats its as useless as punkbuster blocking out cheaters out of Americas Amry Offical Servers. :/

I'm not wasting money on it if it makes you feel better. I'm running the master servers on servers that I would have anyway.

Furthermore, turning off the RenGuard masters would mean that the 6000+ people who use it every week would have to update their shortcuts to launch game2.exe or uninstall RenGuard. Best to just keep connecting and whatnot until we send out the upgrade.

Renguard is still catching people using bigheads and other cheats every single day, so I wouldn't say that its doing nothing. I really don't think that every RG user out there is using a bypass. Besides, who knows, maybe we are allowing some to bypass, just to let them do it enough to not use the "I was just testing it" excuse. Not confirming or denying thats whats happening, but just pointing out that things are not always what they appear from the enduser perspective.

I dont see how a vag is relevant to this topic.

BTW: Didn't you leave renegade? An astoundingly stable engine for one that has to be coded entirely in c++ for the littlest things?
