first off windows is very unstable and crashes often, poeple can say this never happens but that is because they don't push like i do.

I'd say i've pushed both XP and 2000 pretty hard and they have coped very well. Anything before them though is flakey.

to stop it crashing at the moment i have overclocked the proccessor to the max and it over heats regulary. i have enough spyware to give tell the whole us when i go to the toilet.

I'm sure there's a more sensible fix than OCing, and as for spyware you need tools to protect your PC, it comes with the territory.

does anybody have problems with windows?
EG: you have renegade running in the background with rengaurd, renegade server is up and then level edit wont run or windows doesn't even seem to try and load it or it brings up a white window?

Nope, never had anything like that.
Some people just don't like Windows, just like I'm not a big *nix fan, but I use netBSD at Uni and this PC has been dual booted with Mandrake and SuSE and Ubuntu. I still go back to Windows because it's what im confortable with.

when i have the processor clocking at what it was normally at it would crash very often making the computer un-useable so i couldn't even backup.
i had zone alarm security suit and that does work very well but some programs are not reconized as "viruses"

Windows is fine, there's really nothing wrong with it and if you can't get mulitple programs running, upgrade the RAM not the CPU.
i usually have about 6 programs running constantly all the time for months on end and i've had no problems what-so-ever.
The only problems i've had is:
virus
and......
erm......
That's about it.

People who think Windows is a good operating system are nubcakes. You obviously have never used Linux before (especially with Xgl).

what i don't like is people that say they are used to windows and don't want to switch. well the version i am using (Suse) is very much like windows (expt all the benefits of the linux kernel)

Well you can go with Linux, i'm going with Windows myself since it can use and run all of the applications i use today. If you don't properly know how to use Windows, why use it?
Also, in my defence, i actually admitted i have never, ever used a Linux machine in my life, and have only just got to grips with Mac OSX.

And it runs fine. I just hate calling support to authorize my serial, lol. It always asks me to re-auth my serial for "additional hardware installed to my pc" lol. Thats prob the only con i have
