again, it's a joke. lighten up!

there have been french jokes around for longer than any of us have been alive! most of the jokes refer to how easy it is to conquer france.

as for the word causasian, it is a term(scientific i believe) to describe white people. it is no more offensive than the terms negroid or mongloid or puppy.

someday, you'll realize that there are many more important things in life besides trying to piss on people's jokes.

yes...so it's just a coincidence that not only did these jokes come out at the same time as France backed out of the war...but it's also just a coincidence that they're in the Politics forum. You act so mature and so high and mighty...then grow up. you insult your intelligence and mine by assuming I would believe that these are just coincidences. There have been jokes about other countries as well...but it's a well known fact how much the pro-war people hold hostilities towards France...you guys could have waited for a month and made France happy...but instead ignore what they say and attack anyways then make fun of France. grow the fuck up

France didn't just 'back out of the war'. They didn't do what they did out of some sense of morality. Its was greed. France wanted power and money, and didn't care if millions of Iraqis suffered for it. That's why I don't like France.

France consistently supported Saddam. They didn't just oppose a war, they supported Saddam. They rejected any compromise that ended with 'Saddam will be removed'. Even the compromise that would have given them the month or so they wanted was rejected because it said Saddam would be removed if he didn't comply by that deadline.

So we have a damn good reason for not liking France. We did listen to what they had to say. What they had to say was, "No matter what happens, leave a brutal dictator in power because France is making money off him."

Wake up and smell reality.

waiting a month would not have made france happy.
france said they would veto any new resolution regardless of what it said.
waiting a month would have put our troops at even greater risk due to the weather and due to iraq having more time to prepare.

as for the anti french jokes coming out at this time... sure there is an 'agenda' behind it. that doesn't mean that the person telling it or the people laughing at it would ever think it were funny if such an event actually took place.
that is the real gauge to judge such things by... intent.

Actually, they stated that they would veto any new resolution that could cause automatic military force.

I'm against political correctness. I personally find the word "caucasian" offense and utterly retarded. My point is I'm sick of idiots like you starting shit up with countries because you dont believe in their political points. A country doesn't want to go to war...then tough shit. Ever since the moment they said no to the war, you idiots have done nothing but ridicule them. If you want, I can compile a list of threads that you guys have started against the French.

The only THREE threads, besides this one in this forum that were created to make fun of France.
History of French Warfare in a nutshell.
How to properly dislike the French Wink
Dirty, Rotten, Croissant eating MOFO'S.....

That first one and this thread weren't created to ATTACK them but are just harmless little jokes. Now we know some of you little children can't take, or understand some very simple jokes.

You don't think France is in it for the money? Why have they refused to support a war to remove a government which is obviously dangerous, which would cost them money, than turn around and throw a temper tantrum when America/Britain doesn't want to give them a slice of post-war-iraq?

Where's the evidence that France didn't want to go to war because it would cost them money? Show me a legal document, or have a valid source tell me this, and I'll listen to you. everything else is just a theory

Granted he hasn't backed it up, but I'm more inclined to believe his posts, as he has in the past.

You on the other hand, specialize in conjecture. I suspect it's because you know we willl discredit whatever source you link to.

doesn't prove that's why France didn't want to go to war. ok...maybe they benefit from nt going to war...but logically...the US should have benefited economically from being at war...so who's to say we aren't going to war just because Bush has no handle on economics and saw this as a chance to boost it?

all I'm saying is that just because France gets more money for not going to war...that doesn't mean that's why they aren't. Why not join in when the US had already gone to war if that was the case?

They didn't join because they don't just want money, they want power and influence as well. Chirac wanted to lead the world against America's position to gain prominence. If they suddenly supported the war, France wouldn't have a chance at getting the influence Chirac wanted. Now that France's gamble has failed, Chirac is trying to force France back into Iraq, hoping to at least get some of the money back France lost when Saddam fell.

Affirmative.

France has lost face, diplomatic clout, and has serious economic ramifications.

Their gambit to "buck" U.S. influence has failed.

And it only took you a month to grow enough backbone to say it.

Good for you!

Do you really think I would ever let innocents die, considering I care enough about law and order, and innocents to serve for 6 years in the Navy?

I was speaking sarchastically .....aw nevermind. You didn't get it the first time, you won't the second. Maybee you and Duke could get together for dinner or something, and pretend you have a grip on geopolitical events.

Wtf, i know you where speaking sarcasticly. You posted it to be funny, i didnt find it amusing

I need a backbone to say that to you, who the fuck do you think you are ?

O yes i do think you would let innocents do if it saved your life. Look at the tv, they shoot a car full of innocents dead, only because it didnt stop.

Duke of Nukes

the US should have benefited economically from being at war...

How could our economy benefit from being at war? It would cost us money to manufacture the weapons and ammo, fuel, and to send our forces over there. It would ruin our relationship with middle eastern countries. It would cause us to increase the gas prices (from losing the oil, plus stupid gas companies over here increasing the prices to take advantage of the war). It would also hurt the tourist industry. The only economically benefit that would come out of it is the business oportunities that came out of post-war-iraq, which would be there rather the US was involved, or not.

Duke of Nukes

all I'm saying is that just because France gets more money for not going to war...that doesn't mean that's why they aren't. Why not join in when the US had already gone to war if that was the case?

Why get down and dirty and actually help get the reward, when you can just sit back, wait till everyone else is done and complain and cry to the UN to get the reward?

It doesn't seem at all suspicious that they didn't want anything to do with the war in Iraq, but now that it's finished, they're all over the benefits after the war in Iraq?

I would fly an evac chopper and watch as the meteor hit while haveing the people who I had onboard cry and weep as their homes were destoryed but once everything ended I'd move em back in and have them start over. With free backbones givin out. Wait wouldn't an astroid that big destory the Earth's ecosystem?

America's actions regarding this war seem to price that "benefit" without any care. Growing numbers of Iraqi civilians and our own countrymen die as time passes. Perhaps France is the smart one here, planning different approaches to the Iraq issue than rushing in with the pure force hailed by America's leaders. Our plan obviously left no control following the killing of whoever we deemed as "evil."

Finally, the France we speak of is only the government of the French. The split opinions in America at this time are clear to us, but do you really think everyone in France backs what their government does?

The large Earth bound rock in question is a meteor, not an asteroid, there is a difference (Explained in one of my previous replies to this thread.). It only takes a meteor no larger than a few hundred feet to take out an area the size of France. The impact would throw up dust/whatever in to the atmosphere, but it wouldn't be large enough to effect the entire Earth.

Nice to know you'd allow the deaths of millions of children.

Congratulations Java, you are the only person in this thread that I have any respect for. I find this whole thread, even the joke about it, amazingly disgusting. To attack someone/defend yourself in the line of duty, but to say we should let innocents die because the country didn't want to attack Iraq...that puts you somewhere between a snail and the white stuff that forms at the corners of your mouth when you get really thirsty.
