I don't think there's much we can do :-S. Did you try using the disc on another computer? Does it work then? Do you have two CD-rom drives, maybe try in the 2nd one.
Did you scan for viruses or spyware?

im getting same thing i cant install ill port error report incase some one can understand it i think it is something to do with xp or cdrom drive tranfering data but the thing is i have gotten multiple copys of renegade and installed it on 3 different computer all getting same error and all have xp i have done a scan for viruses with avg anti virus best free one there is but havnt found anything
i tryed manuely installign it but that didnt work either

ok i fixed it
1st you need to manuely install as many files as you can to decrease setup time do this by getting winrar and extract all files in the cab files in the install file on the cd to the renegade folder(files will go where they are suposed to go)
then just run normal installation and it will get the rest of the files installed then just load up game and it will work
