It's Nod. "Book of Nod" -> wiki

But you can say : "OMG NOD!"

That's still correct.

"Remember, it's Nod, not NOD."

Countless replies of:

Who's making a big deal of it again?

Making a correction is not necessarily making a big deal out of it. He's simply correcting a common error, so that people can learn from their mistakes and spell it properly. The ones who get all pissy because he's correcting them are the ones making the big deal out of it.

whoa.

So Dave doesn't make a big deal of the whole your/you're thing?

he does it purely to start this type of conversation, the sad thing is we all (myself included) sit here and give him his sick pleasure, he could be doing worse things I suppose...

Hey, I'll correct your/you're mistakes. It's an annoying mistake that shouldn't even be an issue. It just requires people to think for a fucking second before they type out whatever they feel like. Like z310's signature says, in a text-based world, spelling and grammar are important. Not the opposite that so many people try to claim. Plus, what can correcting your mistakes hurt? It takes you 5 seconds to correct a mistake that could plague your language skills for a long time. Companies won't hire people who can't pay attention to the smallest details. Those are what count.

whoa.
