right, i got xfire, signed up with the name 'the17doctor' then found i could connect to rg servers using it, i though 'great'
bad thing is, it logs me in game as gtpfutura where rg has the name gtpandy, and i cant get rg to work.
anyone know how to get xfire to play in renegade servers with the right name?

Xfire interfaces with RG instead of Renegade, because RG overwrites game.exe, which is what Xfire looks for. Theres a patch around somewhere for it...

Go to the Xfire directory, and open up xfire_games.ini. Press Ctrl+R and search for Renegade. Change all "game.exe" strings in the Renegade sections to "game2.exe". RenGuard will not open though if you do this.

it's not the problem with how renguard is running, as i'll start renegade perfectly fine connected to renguard, but when i get in-game, the server claims i dont have renguard.
