i keep reading something in german when i am playing, and don't know anything in german, is there a german (or other foreign language if it's not german, and no offense to germans) server? if so, how do i find out what the host and other players are saying?

Yes, theer are german servers. If you don't speak German, then don't expect to understand them  .
