when i start up rengaurd it goes through all the scannin stuff, then an error pops up that says
"there was a buffer overrun that has corrupted the internal program, and windows will terminate the application."
is there anything i can do?

RG currently does not support windows 2000, 64 bit or Vista. An update for this problem will be released "soon". I suppose this is what causes your problem.
