I've recently got the first decade and installed it with everything working fine. i then tried out renegade and found out about renguard so i downloaded and installed it no hassle at all but know i notice that no text is a appearing when i load the game or join a game, it was there before i got renguard. So what could the problem be????????? I get text whilst in a game and on the game choosing menu.

What RenX said, also download these things to update your Renegade installation and improve it:
1.Install the 1.037 patch.
2.Install No-CD crack if wanted.
3.Install RenGuard if wanted.
4.Install CP1 if wanted. (RenGuard should ask you if you want to download it, if it doesn't, download it here.)
6.Install CP2 if wanted. (RenGuard should ask for it.)
5.Install an updated version of the scripts.dll if wanted;

Here's the install instructions:
- 1. Download the file.
- 2. Open it and only select scripts.dll and bhs.dll.
- 3. Open up your main Renegade folder (C:\westood\renegade) and look if there is a scripts2.dll, if there isn't then rename scripts.dll to scripts2.dll.
- 4. place the 2 selected files into your default Renegade folder.

And what does this have to do with this issue?

They mentioned it some where as having to be installed seperately from Core Patch 2. This is not the case.
