It's either because you have too many people in the server for your bandwidth to handle, and they all get dumped out due to slow responses from your server, or your internet connection is not very stable... either way there's nothing you can do about it short of paying for a faster (and/or more stable) upload speed.

Renegade requires a LOT of bandwidth, a typical household connection will struggle with more than 6 or 8 players

It could also be because of something you put in that you modded, if you're using custom maps they may have areas where people crash when something is done.

But its probably a connection loss

the reason for the username in use error, and the join -> cant join thing is because XWIS has not timed out your servers channel, and it still thinks the server is connected, even though it is not. Therefore when your server tries to join again XWIS thinks its username is still in use, and when you try to join the channel your joining the channel from the server BEFORE it crashed, which is dead.

Only solution is to wait until the channel times out before restarting the FDS.. also a switch to a new username might stop this guy from crashing your server, if indeed he IS crashing it. Also, AFAIK there are fixes for packet flood crashing the FDS...

Not likely unless you can prove beyond any doubt that it IS him crashing your server, and even an XWIS ban would not stop him using direct connection if he knows your server's ip.

You can change your passwords on XWIS, if your using the serial key they were registered with.

I just had a quick search around and cant find where you do it atm, but I know it's possible, look around the forums.

n00b ?

When people ask me "Plz" just because it's shorter than "Please" I feel perfectly justified to answer "No" because it's shorter then "Yes"
