OK, so I assembled a new computer very recently, and being the silly guy I am I left my Renegade CDs at school (a 3-hour drive from here). So, I copied all my Renegade files (including the WOL components) and registry entries onto a DVD and then put them all on my new computer. This works fine, except when I try to log onto WOL it says that it's not installed correctly. Is there any registry setting I missed copying or something? Or, will I have to wait until I'm back in Kingston and can get my CD to have WOL work again. I copied HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Westwood, for the record.

Could you tell me which keys (and corresponding values) I need to add? I'd look them up but I reformatted my old computer and gave it to my dad.

There's a SysID key there but I don't want to just give you mine -- I don't know what it corresponds to.

I'm the bawss.

Hmm... perhaps you could compare yours with someone you trust and see what it's about. If it's not too much trouble of course. Thanks.

Thanks a lot for the help, unfortunately that didn't solve the problem (I even got a pass and corresponding nick from a friend). By the way, Crimson, I already had the SysID file.

Any other ideas why WOL might not work?

I don't want to play on MP servers and anyway I don't know the IPs of servers. For now I guess I'll just have to play on GSA, which sucks because I'm banned from like 40% of the available servers with people in them.

Try running regsvr32.exe on the dlls in the wol folder (like wolapi.dll)

Ah just cause its called mpip dont mean you are forced to play at our servers. Smile

You can add more servers to it, aslong you know the IP for the server and of cause having mirc installed. Razz
