I'm not an expert on this, but it might have to do with how you cool your computer.
If that really is the problem, make sure...
1) You keep that screen covering the fan clean (assuming you use a fan).
2.) Your computer isn't in a tightly closed area blocking airflow in/out of the computer.
3) You aren't leaving it on for more than 10 hours at a time.
I doubt any of this was news, but whatever.
PS: Hardware in a PC naturally heats up a bit, but I don't think it would be hot enough to burn your hand.
