I just received in my new modding/gaming rig (the blue one on the right) - so now i can finish the map pack in style..... (hopefully in the next month or so... )

(Specs - Alienware Area 51 with Predator case - P4 3.06 HT - 1 gig mem - 120 gig HD (3X Raid 5) - ATI 9800 128 - Sony DVD burner - Dell P1130 (Sony) 21" crt - Microsoft wireless IR Mouse- MS Natural Keyboard - UandU personal fingerprint scanner - SB Audigy 2 Platinum 6.1 - Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 speaker system)

and - i gave away my old rig (the one on the left) to another Renegade player --- so don't ask for that one...

so who knows - when i upgrade to another one - you may be chosen to receive my old stuff.....

(btw - i skipped the 30" flat lcd - ghosted a tad too much and wasn't cost effective - $4300.00)

yeah -- i guess working my ass off and going to all the technical training - going through 12 years of Navy life - and ending up as a Information Systems manager for a big company makes me rich.... :rolleyes:

UandU personal fingerprint scanner

These things are cool. The "U are U personal fingerprint scanner" you can password protect your files with your fingerprint so no one else can access them. Dunno how useful they are though, but they look like a good idea.

Well, don't know much about the inside of a comp, but I would think the bigger case the better, becuase you could modify it with a bigger and better part later on.

sorta like when i found out my comp didn't have an AGP and there wasn't enough room to fit an AGP slot becuase of the small size of the case..... so i have to find a good PCI one now...

Yeah - a bigger case is the way to go - that way you have room to spare to add in all the mod items...

The fingerprint scanner is useful in that i can use it to log on to websites/the rig itself - and as pointed out - encrypt files (although i use PGP 8.0). (just a geek toy)

I have added some temp probes for the case and swapped out the flat cables with round ones.

But - i've been busy putting my stuff back onto this new rig - and i still can't believe how fast it is. Renegade re-installed in record time ... didn't even get pass the GDI soldier....

So now this weekend - i will be hard at work on the map pack - and maybe playing a little Renegade....

I've been waiting for my PC from Alienware to arrive for 2 weeks now, I can't wait untill it arrives. I got the Aurora model, a tad bit slower then yours, but it was all I could afford.
