For example: Remember its Nod, NOT NOD. Its a pointless post and the newcomers get flamed for it.

I don't see how that, of all things, causes an issue. It is a simple correction... especially since this game revolves around GDI and Nod (not NOD Wink). It's the same as people correcting someone for thinking GDI means Global Defection Interference. Are you going to just sit there and be like "oh well, I don't want to flame him for it, so I'll just sit idly as this newcomer shows no previous knowledge of C&C and continues to be left in the dark about it"? Most of the time it's not an initial flame to correct the person...

Plus, on most other spelling corrections, if people don't want to be corrected, they can click on the damn Spell-check Message button right there next to the Submit button.

Crimson, this is the perfect exemple of how the idiots on these forums fuck over intresting treats. They start flaming eachother for over one page. This is an exemple of where clearing out this treat would be helpful. I'm sure you could find some trusted moderators, though it might take some time. Maybe you should look for people who have some previous moderating experience (on other forums or such) and who most of all are active.

I have lost count on how many times I have seen that. Then the following posts are to do with how Nod is an acronym. Its predictable. More dedicated moderation would help to stop this repetitiveness. People who have been here ages and have shown their loyalty to this community should be applied as moderators so we can have a spam free day when browsing and posting here.

It might be possible, Crimson could implement a feature that automatically changes the case of that word.

Let all your wishes be granted except one, so you will still have something to strieve for.

sounds like someone is volunteering? don't you have enough to do as it is gozy? Razz

I most surely do Wink. I just want to give a profile exemple. What you basically need is active moderators. It's like serevr moderating: if they aren't there, they can't mod.

Just split all treats where people start with the NOD - Nod stuff into one big treat and people will understand that what they have said has been said 500 times before and will eventually stop it. Well, I hope Razz. It must be very frustrating for people with problems to see that their problem doesn't get solved because of the useless spam :-S.

The only problem (for me at least) is that when I DO crack down on things, I get a dozen private messages telling me to back off and stop being a ... "forum nazi".

Quite simply, there is no pleasing you people. So i've backed off, and am only going after the most serious offenders.

Tell them to shut up and either abide by the rules you set in place, else they can go somewhere else. We don't need these idiots going to you and complaining about being too strict. They're probably the offenders, anyways.

Yeah I agree. These forums have gotten really unfriendly to people who aren't already part of the clique, and it's not particularly friendly for people who are, either. Fuck 'em up Warranto... you know you want to. Big Grin

Take a moment and read the topics in your forums. They lack any kind of direction/unity. This is because interest in renegade is dying. Maybe so many communities wouldn't fail if you supported the community in the caliber you claim to. This involves actually updating your projects. When was the last time BHS made any critical or useful updates to the game? Actually...

imho bhs do not need to release anything new ... i like renegade the way it is atm ... the way it is on the black-cell.net servers to be exact.
sure they done good things ... but well i dont need more atm, i get regular updates at the BC servers ... new features every once in a while Very Happy

Where were you when EA once again screwed the honest WOL user by choosing XWIS over your supposedly working WOL clone? Did you not care enough to convince Mike Verdu that n00bstories had the capacity and honesty to run WOL? Knowing that so many technically capible, motived n00bstories members would help you run it.

im so glad ea passed the resposibility to the xwis team ... they give much more support than ea ...
they responde to user questions, feedback, suggestions and they are doing a good job.
they already added a couple of features ... the "ghost" kick is just 1 example
and imho it would be more than horrible to have the noobstories in response for wol ...

Then tell them to fuck off. If they don't like the rules you set here then they don't have to come here. It's not your fault that they're too stupid to follow some simple rules.

I don't know Crimson, but I am aware of her and what she has done for our community - anyone who puts as much work/money in for the good of the community does not deserve this barrage of abuse imo. Would just like to say thanks to everyone who puts something positive into this community and help keep it alive for people who still care.

I come to these forums quite simply because they are a place full of free speech - no clan protection/swear filters and all that crap, there is not point in taking anything too seriously around here because half the people are just trying to make themselves look clever - that doesn't bother me, most of it just cracks me up.

null - fuck off.

Would support the addition of a few mods and would support Gozy being one, has to be one of the most calm, level headed and knowledgable people I have met here and he seems to be here pretty much 24/7.

Wow, I can't belive someone said clanwars.cc could provide better support than xwis or bhs.....

Although I admint there not the 2 most active organiztation as they could be, BHS has done wayyyyy more for this community than clanwars.cc can even dream about accomplishing.

P.S If you haven't noticed, even in the name they are geared towards only to clans. Theres more to ren than clans....

You have no idea do you?

MaidenTy1 was talking about getting support from XWIS & BHS to make Cw.cc the main Renegade league(as there is no current offical league), they never went on about support.

Leagues in general are just lol to begin with, but leagues for a dead game that's extremely unbalanced, buggy, and not user-friendly is even more lol than that.

well i just have an other opinion ...
i have my experiences with noobstories, and many others share my opinion ...
for me nobbstories is a pain in the ass
even members of noobstories say that many of them are pure dicks to no-noobstories people

i just know that i asked the xwis ppl for support, it took a while but they fixed the problem and answered very politely

and if i ask someone of the noobstories team for anything they
just send me to hell and called me a noob ...
or answer with a question and if i answer this question i never
ever get a rsponse ...

so yes ... i am very glad noobstories has nothing to do with wol
