...Because he's one of the most least-used characters I've seen. When GDI wants anti-infantry goodness, they either get a sniper or a mobius. Patch seems kind of...useless.

Although in fairness, he's not nearly as useless as the GDI rocket officer.

And I heard from a slightly credible source that Patch sees stealth units better than others...?

He is extremely good at close range in the tunnels and remember his shots poison you aswell for extra damage - the only difference with patch on an sbh is that the shots will light him up like it would if he was walking on tiberium, thus making it easier to see him.

I never use him myself unless I am trying to place a beacon and need to cover it cheaply.

I like to use him every once in awhile, mostly when trying to find stealth units, or am going to running up against alot of infantry. I really love his weapon, but it's just not that great of a weapon to have if you don't have a backup.

Patches rape infantry... But about the only time I ever use them is when I'm playing infantry only.

I occasionally use him if I get bored. He isn't too bad, but it's much better to just wait for a Mobius.

I know, but isn't Mobius BETTER against infantry? Isn't Mobius better at everything?

If I were teaching a class in Anti-Nod infantry, Mobius would get an A, and Patch would get a C-. In the greater scheme of things, although he's made to be anti-infantry and doesn't do much else, he's not that great as his job. In any case if I was short on cash I'd get Gunner over Patch, since he's cheaper and is 10x better IMO.

If money is an issue and you need to defend a base to find sbh, patch is a good answer. Although i'd take a gunner any day.

Engineer is the most effective character for SBH hunting, in my opinion. The repair gun can be used for locating and tracking. Plus, remotes and a repair gun outweigh patch's payload any day.

Yes, let's heal a Stealth Black Hand, and then be forced to run right up to him to kill him, that's MUCH better.

So it's confirmed he has better stealth detection? How much better is it, to be honest, I have not used him enough to have noticed and I don't really want to fool around experimenting in a game...

It's not better detection, just that if you spray around for SBHs and one gets hit, it will light up a little longer, though, you could use a regular soldier and shoot just as well and see a flash because often times you really don't need to see the extra few seconds... would work the same for a tib sydney if you wanted.

PS, If you want to detect stealth better, you should focus on doors opening when players on your team aren't there (it makes it hard if some guy spawns, but it's the best way, short of the entire team shooting around.

Tib Sidney is probably better at detecting SBHs because her weapon has a larger radius of splash damage than the flechette gun; therefore, there is more of a chance to damage the SBH and keep him revealed.

I would say Gunner makes a decent detector, since he's cheaper than Patch and has splash damage. And once you're done detecting, he's useful for other stuff as well.

I only go for patch when its certain theres no vehicles around.

Hes a mid-range fighter but that means you have to be on the ground and since his gun is as useful as a basic rifle against heavy armour hes screwed if anything above a buggy is on the field.

At least the nod mid-range troops ALL have weapons that can be seriously used against heavy armour
