It's hard to compare Final Fantasy with Runescape. One is a game you have to spend a few hundred bucks for (the game, the console) and the other is a free online game (or $5 a month if you want more). Of course, I won't pay $5 a month for anything online right now. But I'm also not buying $400 bucks worth of equipment at the same time.

And: FF7 is the shit, Runescape is shit.

All you need to run Runescape is Java, not Alienware. A $400 machine will do that. You can find deals that are even cheaper, or you can build your own. And I don't know anyone who can build their own PlayStation.

Let's say the price at first glance is similar: $400 computer with free Java game vs. $400 PlayStation with $20+ game (however much it goes for these days). But Runescape will still be $5 a month on a machine that has a lot more uses than a PlayStation while Final Fantasy will be a lot more expensive for network play.

Point is, the only thing they really have in common is online role-playing. You get what you pay for.
