Computer Restarts after about 20 seconds [message #194847]

Recruit

I have installed RenGuard and the latest CorePack or whatever, I can easily logon and join a game, after about 20 seconds my computer restarts. This is NOT to do with my graphics or my computer, they are fine, maybe I have something to download or have downloaded something wrongly. Please help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Your whole computer restarts? That sounds like a virus or cpu-overheating.

It can't be a virus, I would have picked it up I think... and my CPU overheating is unlikely as I can easily play more demanding games than Renegade.

It just reboots, without any messages or popups?

And Renegade isn't one of the most demanding games but it definitly will restart on a onboard video - when overheating. After some time playing ofcourse.

Hi there

Did you manage to fix this problem? I've got pretty much the same problem.

For me, it's sound related. I've uninstalled my onboard sound and it works fine.

I tried installing the latest drivers and that didn't help much. It's just stopped the PC from rebooting and just quit out of Renegade instead.
