Does anyone have the ability to click this box?

You need a specific model of ATi's Radeon series for that, and the curved surfaces option requires geometry to have the NPatch option set. Only like four items in the game actually have that option set on them, so I doubt you'll notice any difference were you to get it to work.

ooh. Well i was just wondering if the graphics looked better (like aer they all smoothed at the edges) when this box is ticked. Thanks for answering.

If you take a look at the Renegade Manual there is a screenshot of the options menu and there is a "Cheat" button there.
Take a closer look at the screenshot provided by WNxCABAL and you see at the bottom left that it is "BETACLIENT".

Options.
There's a screenshot to the right of the options menu.
Below the Controls button is the Cheats button.

Sorry, I got a Dutch version of the manual and there are no menus at page 12 and 13, and on the page where there is a menu with the ontrols, there is no cheat menu.

Mine is the Asia-Pacific version of the manual.
It's weird though, they put a cheats menu in there and then deleted it when it could be uber helpful.

They also hah a skin selection menue in 1.0

If you had .pkg mods with alternate skins you could choose what skins you wanted for what character. It was really cool. In Love

That cheats thing was probably for the beta testers to try and run the game through quickly. Then the skin selector thingy was just for the amusement of the people at EA. Weirdos.
