I mean i really dont know if trust or not to trust in Renguard. I'm afraid it might corrupt files on my PC and I really like to have my PC running smoothly. So i want to know what problems could or might it cause

Advantages:
* Proof to fellow players that you are not cheating
* MOTD lists servers which are running RG
* Major Renegade community news on new releases and outages of XWIS etc.
* Actively supported via these forums and IRC by BHS.

Disadvantages:
* RenGuard 1.03 does not work on Windows2000 (RenGuard 1.04 will)
* Some virus scanners falsely declare SVKP.SYS is a "trojan tool" or something of the like (SVKP is a software protection that RenGuard is packed with).

That's pretty much it. There is zero chance that RenGuard can destroy your files or PC, as it just passively checks your renegade files.
