Okay, today I reinstalled all my old C&C Games, including Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge.

Anyone out there know how to get it to stop fucking crashing?

Surprised

It's running on Win95 / 256 Colors (Compatibility) and I've tried Win98 too, I run it for about two minutes on skirmish then it crashes with some "Just-In-Time" debugger popping up out of nowhere with something or other.

Any help?

No. Seriously. No.

It's YR; it came out AFTER XP did. It ought not to need any compatibility ANYTHING.

Perhaps that could be your problem? I've known programs that will stop working when set to a compatibility mode when they require none.

Let me know when you've got it to work, I've made some kickass maps for it, last one I submitted got a thumbs up award on RADEN.

It's the General forum, and if you looked around at the topics, it doesn't even have much to do with Renegade anymore.

Automatic pilot...

You know what I meant anyway. It's be nice to play people on Yuri's Revenge sometimes that don't scream "NOOB UR MOM U R GAI U SUK LOSR NO RUSH NO YURI FAG" and leave mid game because they start losing.

My problem with RA2 is that the setup won't run. I put the disc in, the autoplay starts, I click the install button, then it just doesn't start. I tried compatibility mode on the CD's Setup.exe and launched it there, but it still won't work. What really sucks is the fact that I've got four computers, three of them are XPs, and the '98 is so slow that I can barely surf the Internet on it.

Now so that I don't hijack or anything: Wow, that sucks. I'd try reinstalling it maybe, or shutting down and restarting your computer.

Crappy laptop's right shift key, the one I use, is gone.

The problem is with RA2 and YR is Safedisc (The CD protection used by those games). One of the many, many, MANY, windows updates fucked it up. There IS a fix somewhere on the m$ site.
I will try to find the link. Huh

What does this do? What does the safedisc have to do with RA2/YR not running? Does it cause the check to fail to recognize the disc? I've never had any problems...
