Hello everyone,
Just discovered this place tonight. So it has been 4 years since Renegade was released as of the end of this month right? I used to be a big poster back on the old Renegade boards when Westwood hosted them. I recognized a few names when looking at this forum - I figured I had to register with my old name...lol. Haven't used that name since the boards.
So who here used to post a lot back in the Renegade boards? What's been happening?

I have been modding Renegade since the game first came out.
And I am still going strong as a member of Blackhand Studios.
I strongly suggest you download the RenGuard anti-cheat program.
Also, there is the just released Core Patch 2 addon for renegade that contains a bunch of bug-fixes as well as some new maps to play on.

IIRC, I was member # 845 or something like that. I joined the day Renegade was released.

I misunderstood the registration page for the old forums and was displayed as my real name "Christine Korza". I registered for the old forums during the beta test (I think I was member #859) while I was involved in the test.
A year almost to the day after Renegade was released (released Feb 26, 2002), EA shut Westwood down and Ted Morris (VirtualTed) of Westwood asked the community to "apply" to take over hosting the official forums (the catch: he couldn't give away the database so everyone would have to re-register) -- several communities applied and I was chosen. I spent two days skinning phpBB to look like the old forums and that's what we used until several months ago when I upgraded us to what we have now, and skinned it to look like the familiar colors of the old forums a few months later.
Welcome back -- and if you want to change your username, just send me a PM and I'll take care of it.
I'm the bawss.

Ha. I don't post here regularly anymore, but I just happened to pop my head in and see this thread.
I think my member number back on the old boards was in the 700s, maybe 740 or so.
Good times, though, good times.
I haven't played Renegade in awhile, either...nowadays it's schoolwork that takes up my time, and if I do have time for gaming it's WoW, that devilishly addictive game.

I'm still kinda around
Member number 143 on this forum. I was below 100 on the official ren forums -- I think I was 13 or so at the time and originally registered with the nick name Tanya
Had one of the admins change it to Apache for me eventually, didn't think I was gonna hang around Ren too much, and there was a fair bit of confusion about my gender, LOL
Been Apache Longbow since the good ol' RA2 forums, lol

Just thought I would mention that although Virtual Ted could not officially give us the old forum database, we used an "alternate method" to aquire all of the old posts part of the database, so, while the actual user registrations are gone for good, we do still have all of the old post data. When this new forum was created, some of you may recall that we merged in the old posts of several forums like the mod forum. The general forum was not merged in though, because well it was rather large and no info was there that was really "worth saving" like the mod forum posts were.
Perhaps some time when we are bored we can reformat the old forum posts and put them online so they can be viewed or searched, for prosperity sake. Then again there is always http://www.archive.org

I was on the old forum under the same name as I have now, I eventually got banned once and changed my name to Creed3022 for the duration of the board being run by WS.
I cannot remember my member number, I think it was in the 100-200 range.
